some wedding pics!

Still here!!

I know I said that before...the wedding is done..and what a wedding it was! The bride all in Beetlejuice red lace..the groom a jaunty pirate with a gun in his waist! The best man (my older son Jeremy) was a pimp ..(he actually threw his jacket open and asked the poor dear minister how many rings he wanted)he then went on to tell him he had watchs, anything he desired! The pimp had Lovely Ms Paris Hilton on his arm.The other groomsman was a horrible looking court jester with a sweet little love child hippie on his arm!!...It was the most fun pretty and unique wedding! Everything went well except for some minor problems like..did anyone bring anything to play the bridal walk CD on? A scramble to find a CD player and we were on our way!There was one major screw up..photographer never showed up!So..everyone was running around taking pictures ..passing cameras around.....In the end I ended up with 100 pics with the help of my friend Sharon and sister Pat! I will post a few tomorrow..just got an emergency call to watch my little guy a few hours early! So..till next time...

My beautiful Mts!!

Thought Id share some pics of my area...Natl Geographic said we have one of the few areas left in the world that has been untouched by man.. The beauty takes your breath away..There is one park about 45 minutes away that is supposed to be the darkest place in the country.. a haven for astronomy buffs..the stars hit horizon to horizon...and you can almost touch the moon! With all this nature comes the animals...stunning and pesky sometimes... a bear is in our yard every day...and the deer and elk walk down the road in the early morning mist... last night I had the most gorgeous little skunk in the yard..almost all white! The night before our bear was sitting in the driveway eating our garbage and leaning up against our truck... the deer path in the yard leads right to my apple trees....we have flying squirrels and black squirrels too....the grey squirrels are rare here...and at night falling to sleep to the rythyms of the frogs and late summer bugs is the best relaxation. I love nature and I love Northern Pa.

Ashleys Birthday Zen doodle

Ashleys doll

Ashley was 22 this summer and I re worked an old collectible fairy doll into a new goth doll.... I bought the doll from a store going out of business.. she was a display doll and needed work! Hard to believe she was once a dainty little purple fairy!!

An acrylic experiment... I did this after watching a show on the birth of a star...and used my Cricut die cut machine for the letters... just fooling around!!

Diego quilt

Ryders current favorite thing is Diego... I made a Diego quilt small enough to use in the car...part of birthday present!

Ryders "Car Pocket"

When Ryder was going to the beach on vacation this year .. I made him a "car pocket" to hold all his "Stuff" ....I added a little "pocket buddy" for laughs! Mom said it works!!

Ryders new sand box !

Ryder loves to play in his sand box this summer.. we only had a few days without rain... but he sure enjoyed those days!!

Allies graduation!

My neice Alyce Daubenspeck.. graduated High school this past spring... I made her a commemerative wall hanging.. I cant believe both my neices are in college!! ...and yes.. she was named after me:)

Im still here!

Dear Blog friends...Im still alive..just have been very busy creating this summer....I am making goodies for the wedding.... and opening an Etsy shop for my handmade notecards...Ill be selling them in 2 places in town also... The chamber of commerce gallery and a brand new shop my friend Kim is opening!We are still enjoying our Ryder 4 days a week.... He has grown so much! He is 2 now and a ball of energy.....before I go I want to thank my friend Pat Woodruff who reminded me about my childhood dream of creating art for cards!! Thanks Pat... youve been a real friend and Im so glad we met!!...as soon as I find a printer Ill post some of the cards..... Have a wonderful soggy summer!!

Journal for Ashley

Hi all! I wanted to do something special for my soon to be daughter-in-law. We live on the other side of the state from her and dont get to see her often. She loves photography journaling...so I thought a journal for her to keep exciting memories leading up to the wedding would be a nice surprise.She hasnt received it yet..mailed out 3 days ago..but I think we are safe if I post it now....

Im making ghosts to add to the floral centerpieces or to just put anywhere! They are stiffened cheesecloth!

The wedding Cake!!!

This is the cake my son and his fiance picked out!! Rather shocking at first...but the more I look at it the more I like it!! It perfectly matchs their personalities!!! (remember when I said they were both into goth?) ...and the best part is...I get to make the cake topper!!!! They also received a very nice wedding gift.....a honeymoon trip to Disney world!!! weird thing is...with this little bit of news I think I realized my baby was really getting married!! I cried all night!

Lady Wildflower

This is the second "plaster painting" done more like a collage...her face is the last thing applied...there is many many layers underneath....much fun but VERY hard on the brushs!!! Have a wonderful Tuesday all..... hugs Alyce

This is a collage acrylic painting..done on a canvas that I put plaster on first....really fun!!Its called.."Sticking your neck out" Ill try to put the 2nd one I did up today!! Happy June !! We almost lost all vegetation last night to heavy freezing!!! Hugs Alyce

Memorial Day...

Ahhhhhhh...the beginning of the summer season.....here it is either cold enough for coats... or warm enough for swimming! This May has been really cold...so this week end is going to be hot! There is never a happy medium!! Steves birthday is on the 26 and we always have a party over the week end...since we moved here and dont know many people..our giant parties are down to just the kids and whomever they bring...this year we will have 5 young people (all in their mid to late 20s) imagine that in my tiny house! We set up tents all over the yard and they camp! Going to be a busy holiday....Enjoy yours..... Hugs Alyce
